About this scholarship

Graduating U.S. high school seniors of Hellenic descent and/or Greek Orthodox faith who are parish members and entering a four-year accredited college may apply for merit-based FAITH Scholarships for Academic Excellence. Award amounts vary by year.

Complete the online application by June 26. Optional financial documents may qualify you for additional need-based funding.

Since 2004, FAITH has recognized promising Greek American leaders and connects recipients to a national network of FAITH Scholars.

  • Official academic transcript including spring grades
  • SAT/ACT/AP testing records
  • Baptismal or Chrismation certificate
  • Resume of extracurricular, volunteer, work/internship, leadership, and church activities
  • Two letters of recommendation, including one academic and one religious/spiritual recommendation
  • College or university acceptance letter
  • Application essays
  • Eligibility: U.S. citizen or permanent resident; high school senior graduating from an accredited US high school and entering a 4-year accredited US college/university; must be a member of a Greek Ort
  • Official academic transcript including Spring grades, plus copies of all SAT/ACT/AP testing records
  • Copy or transcript of applicant's Baptismal or Chrismation Certificate (no exceptions)
  • Resume of extracurricular activities, volunteer work, work/internship experience, leadership and church activities
  • Two letters of recommendation (one Academic from a teacher/advisor; one Religious/Spiritual from a priest or youth director), with completed recommendation forms
  • Copy of the college/university acceptance letter confirming planned matriculation
  • Application must be mailed (postmarked) - 2026 deadline was June 26, 2026
  • Optional need-based funds require financial documents (financial aid package, income/expense breakdown, 1040 tax returns for three years)
  • Optional financial documents may qualify the applicant for additional need-based funding.
