About this scholarship
Full-time students of good moral character in the greater San Antonio area who demonstrate academic excellence, financial need, and regular participation in a Christian church may apply. Christ Episcopal Church membership is not required; non-members need a reference from a church member. Seminary applicants must be canonically resident in the Diocese of West Texas. Award amounts vary.
Awards are for one year, with renewal applications available. Awards are not available for for-profit or online institutions.
The scholarship fund honors Estelle Beaumont Ellison and supports students judged on character, motivation, and community involvement alongside academic ability.

- If not a member of Christ Episcopal Church, a letter from a member of the clergy of the applicant's church attesting to moral character and church involvement
- FAFSA (or copy of most recently filed Tax Return Forms) plus a personal financial statement for the person(s) paying tuition
- Academic transcripts (high school transcript with SAT/ACT scores, plus college transcript if applicable; graduate/seminary applicants provide undergraduate transcript and GRE/LSAT/GMAT scores)
- An updated resume listing club involvement, work experience, honors/awards, and volunteer work
- Eligibility: resident of greater San Antonio area, full-time student, ages 14-30 (except seminary applicants); not for-profit/online institutions
- Deadline: March 1, 2026
- Non-members of Christ Episcopal Church need a clergy letter attesting to moral character and church involvement.
- Seminary applicants must be canonically resident in the Diocese of West Texas and are excepted from the stated age range.
