About this scholarship

Permanent residents of San Diego, Imperial, or Southern Riverside County who are currently treated for epilepsy and enrolled or enrolling in college, university, or trade school may apply for Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County scholarships.

Awards range from $250 to $6,000, including named memorial awards. Full-time college students involved in epilepsy research in health or social science fields are also eligible with a 3.0 GPA.

Submit a doctor verification letter, transcripts, recommendations, and documentation of financial need. Satisfactory academic performance is evaluated relative to each student's capabilities.

  • Must reside in or be permanent resident of San Diego County, Imperial County, or Southern Riverside County (out-of-state students enrolled in a San Diego school also eligible)
  • Research-track applicants must have a GPA of at least 3.0; treatment-track applicants need only 'satisfactory academic performance'
  • Application deadline (extended): June 30, 2026
  • Treatment-track applicants need satisfactory academic performance relative to their capabilities; the 3.0 GPA minimum applies only to the research track.
