Elmina (Elliott) Atkinson Entrance Award

For a prospective or current Toronto Metropolitan University journalism student who self-identifies as a woman (including cisgender, transgender, or non-binary) and has demonstrated interest in social justice reporting. The award is $750.

Elmina S. (Elliott) Atkinson was a crusading journalist who wrote as Madge Merton for the Daily Star from 1900 to 1909, covering the working poor and campaigning for the rights of women and children.
