About this scholarship

Open to domestic students in the Bachelor of Commerce program at UBC Vancouver who are from a single-parent household. Financial need may be considered.

Award amounts vary. Funding comes from an endowment established by Elaine Williamson (B.A. 1987, M.B.A. 2000) and David Sprague (B.Com. 1983).

There is no separate student application. Awards are made on the recommendation of the UBC Sauder School of Business.

The award was established to help alleviate barriers faced by students from single-parent households when accessing higher education. Elaine Williamson is an Adjunct Professor at Sauder with over 30 years of industry experience; David Sprague is a Vancouver-based real estate developer.
