About this scholarship

Open to Alberta students registered in grade 12 who are completing a high school diploma, with demonstrated academic progress and a minimum 70% average in grade 12, planning to pursue post-secondary education toward a teaching degree. One scholarship of $1,000 is available.

Applicants submit an original essay of approximately 500 words on their passion for education and why they would like to pursue a career as a teacher.

The scholarship was established in 2005 in tribute to Edith Berger's deep love of education and teaching, endowed by her brother. Edith concluded her career as principal of Huntington Hills Elementary School.
