About this scholarship
Calvert County high school graduates admitted to an accredited medical school with at least a 2.5 GPA may apply for the E. Anne Spitzer, MD Memorial Scholarship through the CalvertHealth Foundation.
Awards of up to $10,000 are granted; recipients reapply each year for continued support. Funds are not contingent on repayment or employment with CalvertHealth.
Submit the application with three references, official transcripts, and proof of medical school acceptance by April 15. The fund provides tuition assistance to students pursuing a doctorate in medicine.

- Three reference questionnaires
- Essay of 500 words or fewer explaining the applicant's medical career pursuit
- Eligibility: graduated from a Calvert County (MD) High School and pursuing a doctorate in medicine; must be admitted to an accredited medical school at time of application with a minimum GPA of 2.5
- Most recent high school and college official transcripts
- Notification/letter of acceptance to an accredited medical program
- Three (3) reference questionnaires (one must be a previous or current instructor; if employed, present employer; remaining may be acquaintances other than parents/relatives)
- Completed and signed application form (do not leave blank spaces)
- Application must be postmarked on or before April 15
- Reapplication required each year for continued assistance
