About this scholarship
Open to outstanding undergraduate students in the Faculty of Arts at UBC Vancouver studying race and migration. Preference is given to students engaged in critical refugee studies and/or histories, theories, and cultural expressions of the Global South.
Award amounts vary. Annual awards are funded by gifts from friends, family, and colleagues in memory of Dr. Y-Dang Troeung (1980–2022).
There is no separate student application. Awards are made on the recommendation of the Department of English Language and Literatures.
Dr. Troeung joined UBC's Department of English Language and Literatures in 2018. Her research spanned transnational Asian literatures, critical refugee studies, and critical disability studies.
