About this scholarship
High school seniors or students enrolled in trade school, college, or university who are residents of Salem or Cumberland Counties, New Jersey, have been diagnosed with congenital heart disease, and plan to attend or are enrolled in a trade school or STEM program may apply for the Dr. Thomas L. Spray Scholarship presented by ACE (Exelon-Atlantic City Electric) through the Victoria Ciara Foundation.
One $1,000 award is offered.
Applicants download and complete the application, email it with an optional 100-word essay on future plans and their CHD journey, confirmation of CHD diagnosis, and a recommendation letter from a non-related adult.

- Recommendation letter from a non-related adult
- Must be an active two-year dues-paying member of ACES in good standing (or a child/grandchild of one)
- Must be currently enrolled or accepted in an accredited technical/trade, undergraduate, or post-graduate school/program
- Personal statement and essay must be typed, double-spaced, 12-point font
- Choose ONE of the two essay topics; essay must be no more than 3 pages
- 2025 deadline: Monday, September 15, 2025, 11:59 PM
