About this scholarship
UBC graduate students engaged in policy-related research on Canada–Asia relations may apply. Eligible students will have written an exceptional paper and pursued activities that contribute to a broader and deeper understanding of Canada–Asia relations in both Canadian and global contexts.
Two prizes of $7,500 each are awarded annually through a gift from Dr. Paul Evans and Catherine Evans.
Applicants submit an online application with a statement of up to 1,000 words, a relevant paper, a UBC transcript, a CV, and the name of a UBC faculty nominator, who submits a nomination form to the Institute of Asian Research. Recipients are selected by the Directors of the Institute of Asian Research, in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.
Dr. Evans is Professor Emeritus in the School of Public Policy and Global Affairs, specializing in Asian and trans-Pacific international relations.
