About this scholarship
Graduate students enrolled at accredited U.S. colleges or universities who are conducting research related to fat acceptance, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, weight cycling, or weight-related medical bias may apply for the NAAFA Dr. Paul Ernsberger Research Scholarship.
Up to three $2,500 awards are granted annually and paid directly to the student. Applicants must show financial need (FAFSA Student Aid Report required). Priority goes to applicants of marginalized identity (POC, LGBTQIA+, disabled, fat/superfat) and those with demonstrated need.
Submit the online application with transcripts, proof of graduate enrollment, at least one recommendation from someone other than your advisor, and your FAFSA Student Aid Report.
The fund honors Dr. Paul Ernsberger, a NAAFA Advisory Board member and Health At Every Size co-founder whose research challenged weight bias in medicine.
