About this scholarship
Open to fourth-year M.D. students in the Island Medical Program who have been matched to a surgical residency. Preference goes to students matched to an ENT or vascular surgery residency.
The award amount varies. It is endowed by the Victoria Medical Society at the University of Victoria in memory of Dr. Michael Ross.
Recipients are chosen on the recommendation of the Faculty of Medicine. There is no separate application.
Dr. Ross trained as a family physician in England, completed otolaryngology residency in Seattle, and served as Chief of Surgery at Royal Jubilee Hospital and President of the Victoria Medical Society.
