About this scholarship
Korean-heritage high school seniors in New York or New Jersey with at least a 3.0 GPA, demonstrated leadership or volunteer service, and family income at or below 400% of the federal poverty level may apply for the Dr. Lee Hoon Scholarship from Korean Community Services of Metropolitan New York.
Three $5,000 scholarships are awarded annually. Funds are sent directly to the recipient's college or university for first-year tuition.
Complete the online application and submit a resume, unofficial transcript, parent or guardian IRS Form 1040, and a 600-word personal essay responding to one of three prompts. The program honors Dr. Lee Hoon, whose education was supported by scholarships and who gave back to Korean-American communities.
