Open to graduate students in the Department of Anesthesiology, Pharmacology and Therapeutics at UBC Vancouver who are studying pharmacology and therapeutics.
Awards totalling $1,400 are funded through an endowment established by professors emeriti from the department, with recipients typically named at both the M.Sc. and Ph.D. level.
Each spring the department invites graduate students who have completed at least one full term in the program to submit an updated CV. Candidates are ranked on their research productivity over the previous two years, using criteria similar to Tri-Council awards, and recipients are chosen by the department in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. Past recipients are not eligible in the following year's competition.
