Dr. John P. Aitchison Memorial Award in Chemistry

Third- and fourth-year UBC Vancouver B.Sc. students majoring in Chemistry who have demonstrated mentorship to second-year B.Sc. Chemistry students may be considered.

Variable awards are funded annually through gifts from friends and family in memory of Dr. John P. Aitchison (1934-1983).

Recipients are selected on the recommendation of the Department of Chemistry. There is no separate student application.

Dr. Aitchison completed his undergraduate chemistry degree at UBC, where he mentored younger students, before earning a Ph.D. in Toxicology and building a career in clinical toxicology research at Oregon Health and Science University.
