Dr. Jim McDonald Scholarship for Northern Research

Canadian citizens or permanent residents enrolled in a graduate social sciences or humanities program at a Canadian university may apply if their studies pertain to Canada's North and its inhabitants and include direct northern field research or experience. Community-based research, interdisciplinary work, and local Indigenous collaboration receive special consideration. Applicants must not hold two ACUNS awards at the same time.

One scholarship of $5,000 is available from the Association of Canadian Universities for Northern Studies, with support from the family of the late Dr. Jim McDonald. Applications and guidelines are on the ACUNS website.
