Open to outstanding graduate students in the UBC Faculty of Forestry conducting research in stand growth dynamics and modelling.
Scholarships totalling $2,800 are awarded on the recommendation of the Faculty of Forestry in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. Faculty-nominated; no separate student application.
Dr. Imre Bella (B.Sc. 1958, M.F., Ph.D. 1970) established the endowment. He was among the first Sopron graduates at UBC after faculty and students from Sopron University left Hungary following the 1956 Hungarian Revolution.
