About this scholarship
Open to outstanding graduate students in the Department of Central, Eastern, and Northern European Studies whose research is in or related to Holocaust Studies.
Annual scholarships are funded through a gift from Dr. Hinda Avery (B.F.A., M.F.A. 1985, Ph.D. 1993), an artist and retired lecturer of women's studies whose work includes paintings depicting female family members as resisters during the Holocaust.
Recipients are selected on the recommendation of the Department of Central, Eastern, and Northern European Studies in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. There is no separate student application.
