Dr. Gussie M. Ware Memorial Scholarship

African American women who are graduating high school seniors or GED recipients accepted to a two- or four-year college, or past recipients currently enrolled in college, may be matched to the Dr. Gussie M. Ware Memorial Scholarship through the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois universal application.

Applicants must have a permanent address in Winnebago County or be a relative of Dr. Gussie M. Ware. Award amounts vary.

Apply through CFNIL's universal scholarship application during the Winter cycle. Each matched scholarship includes a specific written prompt. The fund supports resourceful students beginning their educational journey.
