About this scholarship
Full-time doctoral students in Biology at York University who identify as women may apply. Recipients must demonstrate a minimum A average and an exceptional publication or other significant scholarly accomplishment. The scholarship is offered under York's Special Program for Women in Science.
Up to one award of $900 is available (subject to change).
Apply through the Financial Aid, Awards and Scholarships (FAAS) system with a personal statement showing how the research aligns with the award and proof of the publication or scholarly accomplishment, plus an updated CV and transcript.
Established by a bequest from the late Professor Emeritus of Biology Doris M. Nicholls, who taught and mentored graduate students at York for decades after joining the university in 1965.
