Dr. Dennis McElgunn Memorial Award in Emergency Medicine

Open to outstanding medical residents in Emergency Medicine at the Vancouver Island site who have demonstrated excellence in clinical care.

The award amount varies. It is endowed in memory of Dr. Dennis McElgunn.

Recipients are chosen on the recommendation of the Department of Emergency Medicine. There is no separate application.

Dr. McElgunn was among the first emergency medicine specialists in Canada and practiced for twenty-four years at Royal Jubilee and Victoria General Hospitals in Victoria.
