About this scholarship
Canadian citizens or permanent residents who are outstanding secondary school students entering year one full-time studies at Western University's main campus, with a minimum 90% average (or equivalent), broad interests, and leadership through school or community activities. Candidates must be nominated by their secondary school.
Up to 15 President's Entrance Scholarships of $10,000. Application requires school nomination, a reference, a transcript, and an original essay (1,000 to 1,250 words) on an issue of public concern important to the applicant.

- Minimum 90% overall average on Grade 12 U/M courses (equivalent)
- Applying for full-time admission to Western main campus
- School-provided transcript, school nomination form, and a reference/assessor letter required
- Essay references must be in APA style; reference page does not count toward the essay word count; no abstract required
- Deadline February 14 (2026 cycle); online application opens mid-November
- A single online Western National Scholarship Program application covers this award; no separate application is required.
- Essay must be typed, double-spaced, titled, include word count, and use APA-style references.
