About this scholarship
Graduate students in the UBC Department of Mechanical Engineering may be considered. Candidates must demonstrate interest and academic accomplishment in machine tool vibrations and control, metal cutting mechanics, computer aided manufacturing (CAM), or precision engineering, and must excel academically in four of specified graduate courses including Advanced Mathematics, Vibrations, Control Theory, Kinematics, Finite Element Methods, Metal Cutting Mechanics, and related subjects.
Scholarships are endowed from a fund; award amounts vary.
Recommendations are made by the Department of Mechanical Engineering in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. There is no separate application.
The endowment recognizes Dr. Yusuf Altintas, who founded the Manufacturing Automation Laboratory at UBC.
