About this scholarship

Undergraduate or graduate students of documented Huguenot descent at a U.S. academic institution who demonstrate ideals aligned with Historic Huguenot Street's mission may apply for one of two Dorothy DuBois Walker Beach Scholarships.

Two awards of $1,000 each are granted annually. Funds are applied to the spring semester.

Submit application, transcript, two recommendation letters (one from a professor), statement of goals, and Huguenot ancestry documentation by August 31. Historic Huguenot Street promotes scholarship in decorative arts, Indigenous history, African American experience in the Hudson Valley, and Huguenot culture.

  • Must demonstrate how their own ideals are exemplified in the Historic Huguenot Street (HHS) mission
  • Official transcript emailed directly from the college/university, or sent in a sealed/marked envelope from the registrar/bursar, or remitted via online portal
  • Two letters of recommendation (sealed envelopes or emailed directly from referees); at least one must be from a college or university professor
  • A completed Huguenot Ancestry Form (required specifically for the Dorothy DuBois Walker Beach Scholarship)
