About this scholarship

Thesis-based, full-time domestic or international students entering the Master of Science or Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing program at UBC Okanagan may be automatically considered for the Dorothy Anna Proudfoot Memorial Scholarship. Preference is given to the student with the highest admission GPA.

The award is made on the recommendation of the School of Nursing. There is no separate application.

Dorothy Proudfoot (1929-2015) had a nursing career spanning decades, from Humboldt, Saskatchewan, to long-term care in Kelowna. She flew with the Saskatchewan Air Ambulance, served as a nurse in Japan during the Korean War, and worked in community health, home nursing, long-term care assessment, and administration in Kelowna.
