About this scholarship

Open to UBC Vancouver students who have completed at least one year of full-time study and show high standards of leadership with a demonstrated interest in Rugby.

Award amounts vary. Recipients are chosen on the recommendation of the Director of Athletics and Recreation in consultation with the Head Rugby coach. There is no separate application.

The award honours Donn Spence (B.P.E. '56, M.S. '67) for his contributions to the University and community through Rugby. It was established by the 1984 UBC Rugby team, the Vancouver, British Columbia and Canada Rugby Unions, and friends of Donn Spence.
