About this scholarship

Undergraduate mining engineering students at the Norman B. Keevil Institute of Mining Engineering at UBC Vancouver may be considered for the Don Lindsay Teck Award. In addition to academic merit, selection considers leadership, community service, and extracurricular achievement.

Awards totalling $35,000 are available through an endowment established by Teck Resources Limited. Subject to continued good academic standing, awards may be renewed for a further two years of study or until the first undergraduate degree is obtained, whichever comes first.

Awards are made on the recommendation of the Faculty of Applied Science.

The endowment honours Don Lindsay (B.Sc. (Hons.), M.B.A.), who retired as President and CEO of Teck after 17 years and was appointed to the Order of British Columbia in 2014.
