Outstanding undergraduate students in the UBC Faculty of Forestry may be nominated for this scholarship.
Scholarships are drawn from a $3,950 endowment established by family, friends, and colleagues in memory of Don Laishley (1935-2020), along with matching funds from the Faculty of Forestry. Preference goes to students studying Natural Resources Conservation, Forest Sciences, Forest Resources Management, or Forest Operations. The per-recipient amount varies by year.
Recipients are selected on faculty recommendation.
Don Laishley (B.S.F. 1960) spent his career in forestry across British Columbia and internationally, and received the Canadian Forestry Achievement Award in 1996.
