About this scholarship

For Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, or Métis) doctoral trainees who self-identify as Indigenous and are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons. Applicants must be enrolled in, accepted to, or intending to reclassify into a full-time doctoral program at an eligible Canadian institution, with a research supervisor at that institution, and must be committed to heart and/or brain research. The Doctoral Personnel Award for Indigenous Scholars is valued at $40,000; partial awards of less than one year are not available.
