About this scholarship

New Mexico high school seniors, homeschool seniors, or same-year GED recipients who are Del Norte Credit Union members may apply for the Del Norte LOV Foundation Scholarship for full-time study at an accredited college or vocational school.

Twelve awards are granted annually at tiered amounts based on GPA. Applicants need at least a 2.5 GPA plus transcript, recommendation, and online application due March 26.

The program assists local New Mexicans planning to continue their education. Scholarships support full-time study at an accredited institution of the student's choice.

  • Be a high school senior, equivalent home-school senior, or a GED recipient (GED received in same year of higher education enrollment)
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Submit a current, complete transcript of grades (grade reports not accepted)
  • Complete the Applicant Appraisal section (required), completed by a high school counselor/advisor, instructor, or work supervisor
  • Application must be mailed/postmarked by the deadline to Scholarship America (administered by Scholarship America)
  • Essay formatting: one side of an 8.5x11 page, double-spaced, 10 point font, typed (handwritten essays not accepted); include name, address, and program name at top
  • Must enroll in undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school.
  • Credit-union membership must be established before the application deadline.
  • Application must be mailed/postmarked to Scholarship America by the deadline.
