About this scholarship
Descendants or legal wards of Lao or Lao-Hmong individuals who served in the Royal Laotian Military or Hmong forces between 1960 and 1975 may apply for Distinguished Raven FAC Memorial Scholarships. High school seniors or graduates pursuing undergraduate study at an accredited U.S. college, university, or technical school are eligible.
Up to 12 awards ranging from $500 to $2,500 are granted annually. No individual may receive more than two scholarships, and not in consecutive years.
Complete the application form and mail it postmarked by February 28. The Edgar Allan Poe Literary Society, formed by Forward Air Controllers who supported Laotian and Hmong forces, sponsors these awards in memory of Ravens who sacrificed for freedom.

- One- or two-page essay describing goals and extenuating circumstances
- Two letters of recommendation from eligible adult community members
- Completed official Raven FAC Memorial Scholarship application form
- Copy of high school transcript
- Two letters of recommendation from adult community members (teachers, principals, organization officials, public officials, employers, or business leaders); may NOT be from immediate family, Raven FAC
- Application must be postmarked by February 28

- No person may receive more than two scholarships and may not receive awards in consecutive years.
