About this scholarship

Faculty and student teams from eligible Minority Serving Institutions may apply for the DHS Summer Research Team Program to conduct 10 weeks of research at a DHS Center of Excellence. Teams include one faculty member and up to two students.

U.S. citizen students need a 3.0 GPA, a STEM major, full-time sophomore-or-higher standing at an accredited MSI, and availability for the full 10-week appointment. Participants receive weekly stipends for 10 weeks, with awards reaching up to $7,000.

Students must have health insurance coverage before and during the appointment. The program aims to increase scientific leadership at MSIs in research areas supporting DHS missions.
