About this scholarship

U.S. citizens in their second, third, or fourth year of an accredited U.S. veterinary school who demonstrate interest in camelid medicine, particularly alpacas, may apply through the National Alpaca Foundation.

Three scholarships of $3,000 each are paid directly to the school. Funds support education at U.S. institutions offering camelid health programs or relevant coursework.

Submit a resume, two letters of reference (one from an animal health professor), proof of enrollment, transcript, current GPA, and an essay of up to 1,000 words on your passion for large animal medicine and serving the alpaca community. The scholarship honors Dawn Stewart, a dedicated alpaca advocate.
