About this scholarship

U.S. citizen veterans with proof of honorable discharge, or legal dependents of veterans who have navigated mental health challenges, may apply for the David Galiyas Jr. Foundation Building Futures Scholarship. High school applicants need at least a 2.8 GPA; graduate applicants need a completed bachelor's degree with at least a 3.0 GPA and must be accepted to or enrolled in an accredited U.S. institution.

Three $5,000 scholarships are awarded per cycle.

Apply online during the application window with proof of veteran or dependent status, transcripts, a 500-word essay, FAFSA summary, and a letter from a treating professional. The foundation believes education is a powerful tool for reclaiming one's path beyond mental illness.
