About this scholarship

High school seniors who are daughters of career commissioned officers in the U.S. military may apply for scholarships from the Daughters of the Cincinnati during their senior year. Eligible parents are active duty officers, retirees with at least 20 years of service, or deceased career officers.

Scholarships are up to $5,000 per year for four years, paid directly to the recipient's college. The number of recipients varies. Selection weighs merit and financial need.

Submit an essay, secondary school report, a community recommendation letter, and a Student Aid Report by March 1 of senior year.

  • Secondary School Report completed by a school official, including official transcript, grades, and SAT or ACT scores
  • Letter of recommendation from someone who knows the applicant well and is not a family member
  • Copy of parents' most recent income tax return and the Student Aid Report (SAR / FAFSA)
  • All materials must be postmarked no later than March 15
  • Awards are up to $5,000 per year for up to four years.
