About this scholarship
J.D. students at UBC's Peter A. Allard School of Law entering their second year who are the first in their family to attend law school are eligible for this award. Awards totalling $3,000 are made available through an endowment established by Daniel C. Lee and Tianyi Song in honour of Daniel's parents, Peter Lee and Bi Juan Li. Preference is given to students with an interest in immigration law.
There is no separate application. The awards are made on the recommendation of the Peter A. Allard School of Law.
Daniel, the first in his family to earn a Juris Doctor degree, is a partner at Fasken practicing corporate immigration law and was recognized among Canadian Lawyer Magazine's Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers for his volunteer work on the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel.
