About this scholarship

For Canadian citizens or permanent residents. Previous Dalton Camp Award winners are ineligible; previous Student Prize winners may enter. Friends of Canadian Media board members, employees, consultants, jury members, and their immediate families may not apply.

One prize of $10,000 is awarded for the best original English-language non-fiction essay on the link between media and democracy. Essays may be up to 2,000 words, excluding footnotes and citations. Recently published and unpublished essays may be submitted under the published-entry rules.

Submit one essay in Word or OpenDocument format with a cover page. There is no entrance fee. Essays are judged anonymously.
