About this scholarship
CUNY undergraduate and graduate students with academic excellence, financial need, and commitment to service in the Mexican and/or immigrant community in New York may apply for Becas scholarships through the Jaime Lucero Mexican Studies Institute. The $7,500 award covers tuition only and is disbursed in equal fall and spring installments for undergraduates or in one installment for graduates.
Recipients complete a 200-hour internship and participate in monthly seminars and the Becari@s network. Selection considers academic excellence, financial need, and community service without regard to immigration status.
