About this scholarship
Iowa high school seniors pursuing programs of study in conservation or agriculture may apply through their county Soil and Water Conservation District for Conservation Districts of Iowa scholarships.
Nine awards are granted: $3,000, $2,000, and $1,000 at the state level plus six $500 regional awards. Preference goes to students pursuing conservation-focused programs. Funds apply to the student's first year of college.
CDI partners with local conservation districts to foster higher education in agriculture and conservation fields.
Essay questions
What else to submit
- Official school transcript including attendance record, GPA, and current class rank
- ACT, SAT, or other standardized test scores
- One letter of recommendation from a teacher, school official, or employer
- Answer all nine (9) application questions on separate pages
- Combined responses must not exceed four (4) single-sided, single-spaced pages, using a minimum 12-point Times New Roman font and 1-inch margins
- Official school transcript including attendance record, GPA, and current class rank
- ACT, SAT, or other standardized test scores
- One (1) letter of recommendation from a teacher, school official, or employer (do not submit more than one)
- Must be pursuing a career in conservation or agriculture (preference for conservation careers)
- Submit to the county Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) office where you reside by Friday, February 6 (deadline)
- Essays determined to have been written using artificial intelligence software will be disqualified
- Questions 1-3 are list-type items (high schools attended; extracurricular activities/leadership; community/volunteer activities/leadership)
- Submit through the county Soil and Water Conservation District office where the student resides.
- Answer all nine application questions; combined responses may not exceed four single-sided, single-spaced pages.
- AI-written essays are disqualified.
- Funds apply to the student's first year of college.
