About this scholarship

Connecticut residents entering college-level programs in architecture, construction-related engineering, construction management, surveying, planning, or other construction fields may apply for Connecticut Building Congress Scholarship Fund awards.

Five scholarships have recently ranged from $3,000 to $8,000 per year and may renew for up to five years based on academic performance and continued study in a construction-related major. Recipients and up to two family members are invited to the annual Project Team and Scholarship Awards Banquet.

The fund encourages Connecticut students of all backgrounds to pursue careers in the construction industry.

  • Signed application, including parent or guardian signature
  • High school transcript including grading scale, class standing, and SAT/ACT test results
  • Copy of FAFSA form
  • Essay of no more than 500 words explaining how planned studies relate to a construction-industry career
  • Connecticut-resident student studying construction industry-related subjects in college (architecture, construction-related engineering, construction management, surveying, planning, drafting, etc.)
  • Graduating Connecticut high school student entering a college-level program
  • High school transcript including grading scale, class standing, and SAT/ACT test results
  • Copy of FAFSA form
  • Letters of recommendation (optional but strongly recommended)
  • Application must be signed by both the applicant and a parent/guardian
  • Deadline: March 2, 2026
  • Letters of recommendation are optional but strongly recommended.
  • Renewal for up to five years is based on academic performance and continued study in a construction-related major.
