About this scholarship
Students pursuing an associate, bachelor's, or master's degree in park operations-related fields, including conservation law enforcement, criminal justice, natural resource management, or park administration, with at least a 2.8 GPA may apply for the Park Law Enforcement Association's Newell S. Rand Jr. Scholarship.
Up to five awards of up to $1,000 each are granted annually. Submit three letters of recommendation, including one from a counselor, instructor, principal, or college advisor, a one-page essay, and a summary of school and community activities. Funds are sent directly to the educational institution.
The program honors Commander Newell S. Rand Jr., a pioneer in park law enforcement who died in 1997 while serving as PLEA Vice President.
