About this scholarship

New first-year and transfer students at Colorado State University's Fort Collins campus who are first-generation college students, demonstrate financial need through FAFSA or CASFA, and are admitted by the posted deadline may apply for the First Generation Award through RamWeb. Applicants must be Colorado residents or classified as in-state, U.S. citizens or eligible noncitizens, and enrolled full-time.

CSU funds 75 awards annually. Award amounts vary based on need and available funding. First-year applications open October 1 and close February 1; transfer applications close June 1. An essay component becomes available December 1.

The First Generation Award supports students whose parents or guardians did not earn bachelor's degrees.
