About this scholarship

Graduating high school seniors from Forsyth County, North Carolina, with significant financial need who plan to attend Winston-Salem State University or Forsyth Technical Community College may apply through the Shallow Ford Foundation.

Renewable awards provide up to $5,000 per year (up to four years at WSSU or two years at Forsyth Tech) based on satisfactory academic progress. Preference goes to applicants who attended Cook Elementary School in Winston-Salem.

The Reynolda Rotary College Assistance Program honors Coach Clarence "Big House" Gaines, a mentor to hundreds of young people in Winston-Salem.
