About this scholarship
Civil Air Patrol cadets who completed a Powered Solo Flight Academy and earned the CAP solo rating may apply for the Lt. Col. William E. Hanna, Jr. Memorial Flight Scholarship through CadetInvest.
The award provides up to $5,000 for Part 61 or Part 141 flight training or instruction on CAP aircraft toward a private pilot certificate. Applicants submit a one-page essay on Lt. Col. Hanna and their aviation goals.
Applications open December 15 and close January 15 at noon Central Time.

- Must be a current Civil Air Patrol cadet who completed a CAP Powered Solo Flight Academy and earned the solo rating

- Apply through Registration Zone following the standard CAP scholarship application procedures
- Award is $5,000 to one cadet; the Hanna family receives one vote on the selected applicant
