About this scholarship

Black undergraduate student researchers who self-identify as Black may apply for CIHR or SSHRC Undergraduate Student Research Awards. These awards are currently open exclusively to Black student researchers and are modelled on NSERC's USRA program.

Successful students work for 16 weeks over the summer under faculty supervision. The award provides $6,000, with a required match from the host institution.

Each eligible institution sets its own internal application deadline. UTM applicants should contact Rong Wu (rong.wu@utoronto.ca) for campus dates and process details.
