About this scholarship

High school seniors graduating from a Chicago Public or Charter school with a weighted GPA of at least 3.5, household income of $75,000 or less, and U.S. citizenship, nationality, or permanent residency may apply if they plan full-time enrollment in a STEM major at an accredited U.S. nonprofit four-year college. CASL program participation is considered but not required.

The award is up to $5,000 per year toward tuition, fees, room, board, books, transportation, and some personal costs. It renews with continued eligible enrollment and a minimum 2.75 GPA. Five awards are listed as available.

Submit the application, a personal essay of at least 300 words, and two recommendation letters by April 1. Finalists may be asked for a video essay.

Ann and Tony Yeung founded the scholarship to support STEM students from Chicago's Chinatown and Bridgeport communities.
