About this scholarship
Ph.D. candidates in the humanities and social sciences at accredited U.S. graduate schools may apply for the Charlotte W. Newcombe Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship when their research addresses religion, ethics, values, or morals. Applicants must be ABD by the November 1 deadline, with all pre-dissertation requirements complete, and use the award for the final year of dissertation writing.
Fellows receive a $31,000 stipend. Graduate schools are asked to waive tuition and fees while maintaining health insurance.
