About this scholarship
Maryland career or volunteer firefighters, ambulance, and rescue squad members actively serving their community who are enrolled in credited courses leading to a degree in fire service technology, emergency medical technology, fire service management, or public safety administration may apply via MDCAPS.
Awards cover at least 50% of annual tuition and mandatory fees, up to the cost of resident undergraduate tuition at a University System of Maryland four-year public institution. Renewals require a 2.5 GPA. Recipients owe a post-graduation service obligation in Maryland.
Submit proof of acceptance into an eligible degree program and a notarized statement confirming active service, including minimum LOSAP points or hours worked in the prior year.
