About this scholarship

Canadian medical students completing their second year (or ready to begin clerkship in three-year programs) at participating Canadian medical schools may be nominated by their dean. Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents in good standing with demonstrated leadership, academic excellence, communication skills, and interest in advancing knowledge.

Each award is $5,000, plus a complimentary ticket and travel subsidy to the following year's Canadian Medical Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Up to 17 awards may be given.

Nomination packages (including a 1,000-word essay, CV, and three letters of support) are submitted through each school's Undergraduate Medical Education office, not directly to CMHF.

The award recognizes medical students who show outstanding potential as future leaders and innovators of health care in Canada.
