About this scholarship

Active CIHR, NSERC, or SSHRC master's or doctoral award holders who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons may apply for the Canada Research Training Awards Suite Research Travel Supplement (CRTAS-RTS). Travel must last two to six months, begin on or after the application deadline during an active tri-agency award, and be outside Canada if the current award is held in Canada (or in Canada if the award is held abroad).

The supplement is $9,000 and non-renewable. It helps offset research travel costs within or outside Canada for a defined period.

Submit the CRTAS-RTS application form with supervisor and institutional approvals.
